Theround,half-circlemirrorswillallowuserstoviewthingsoccurringatadistance,aroundacornerorinareasotherwisehiddenfromsight,officialssaid.Theywillhelpschoolstaffnavigateduringarun,hide,fightsituationorduringdrills.

MoneyfromafederalDepartmentofJusticeCommunityOrientedPolicingServicesgrantwillfundthepurchase,accordingtoU-46CoordinatorofSchoolSafetyRichardBosh.Theequipmentistobeinstalledthisspring.

Districtofficialsarealsoexpectingtousethe$500,000federalgranttopurchaseadditionalcamerasformiddleschools,motionsensorsecuritylightsforallschoolbuildingexteriorsandfencingforthreeschools.
