Cyberpunk 2077 received update 1.5 days ago, and one of its highlight features is the new purchasable (and customizable) apartments. The Glen apartment, specifically, is on the higher end of the game's selection of optional homes, but fans may find it a worthwhile investment all the same.
One Cyberpunk 2077 player who purchased the Glen apartment ended up visiting it during a huge sandstorm, and the scene they uncovered looks like it was lifted out of a Blade Runner film. With stark contrast between the darkened interior of the apartment and the sunlight shining through the storm, the images they posted have a harsh contrast that fans of both cyberpunk franchises will surely adore.

Though patch 1.5 upped the Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements across the board, this wasn't without good reason. With substantially improved raytracing and lighting quality, many of the game's scenes have been made more beautiful. As Pheonix_Inferno7's screenshots show, CD Projekt RED's work is not going to waste.
3 Images ExpandExpandExpandThough it's plenty obvious that both Cyberpunk 2077 and Blade Runner 2049 draw from the same pool of inspirations, the vastly different approaches to telling similar post-human and trans-human stories keep the two franchises apart in most cases. The game's Glen apartment, however, feels like a potentially deliberate throwback when the sandstorm hits. Though graphics alone won't make or break the game's future, scenes such as this may give players hope for Cyberpunk 2077's future 2022 updates.
Players who wish to experience Pheonix_Inferno7's discovery for themselves can purchase the Glen apartment via their apartment PC for the low, low price of 40,000 Eddies. There are more expensive options available, too, but sandstorms are localized to specific areas of the map, and probably won't reach other apartments. Still, plenty of other visual surprises await in patch 1.5, such as immense improvements to Cyberpunk 2077's character rendering.
It has already been proven that update 1.5 included a massive list of undocumented changes to Cyberpunk 2077. Though most of these are related to bug fixes and other decided unglamorous improvements, it's hard not to wonder what other visual delights may await in the game now that it's getting properly patched up. What's obvious, though, is that the Glen apartment is sure to quickly become the home of choice for Cyberpunk 2077 players that enjoy Blade Runner's grungy style of sci-fi, too.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series platforms.
