Ring in the New Year with Netflix's New Year's Countdown 2022

Out with 2021, and in with 2022! Tonight, the United States will ring in the New Year with the annual Times Square ball drop in New York City. And while last year’s ball drop was empty due to the pandemic, this year, the event’s signature screaming crowd will return — omicron be damned!

But if you’re planning on curling up with a glass of champagne at home this New Year’s Eve instead of venturing out into large, potentially unvaxxed crowds, you’re probably wondering how to watch the Times Square ball drop live. WHEN DOES BALL DROP COVERAGE START?

Here’s what time the most popular New Year’s Eve specials begin:

NBC: Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party: 10 p.m. ET

ABC: Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2022: 8 p.m. ET

CNN: New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen: 8 p.m. ET

Fox: New Year’s Eve with Ken Jeong and Joel McHale: While Fox initially planned to ring in 2022 with hosts Ken Jeong and Joel McHale, Fox canceled the event on Dec. 22 due to the spread of the omicron variant. Other programming will take its place.
